He is also a volunteer outdoor leader with Wilderness First Responder & CPR certifications. He lives in Portsmouth, NH with his wife and fluffy dog.
AKF USA is the umbrella organization for all Kokikai dojos in the United States. They hold several national camps across the country throughout the year so practitioners from various dojos can meet, train, and share their experiences. These camps were a great opportunity to learn from Sensei Maruyama himself, but more recently for senior instructors to teach and hold testing and demonstrations to ensure the quality of Kokikai Aikido. For the past several years they have also organized a Spring trip to Nagoya, Japan to train in Sensei's home dojo.
